Composting with Kai Cycle

Kai Cycle

Composting is an essential part of the oasis, managed by Kai Cycle. Food scraps, picked up by bike, are layered with other compostables to make healthy happy humus to feed the soil and the vegetables.

How Kai Cycle Works for Businesses

The weekly Kai Cycle food scrap collection takes place on Friday afternoons, but if you need, you can negotiate an extra pick up earlier on in the week. All Kai Cycle clients are provided with a clean food scrap bucket. On the outside of the bucket, details of what can be composted are shown. Our Work Pick Up for businesses is priced at $50/month. A smaller container for your kitchen can be provided upon request for an additional $10. Sign up for PickUps here!

Composting for households that produce less than 5 litres of food waste a week

We have a Bokashi drop off area so that people who want to compost their food waste but don’t have garden space or produce enough to get there scraps picked up can still be a part of the kai cycle. Simply buy a Bokashi system from either Commonsense Organics or the Sustainability Trust and contact us! We will tell you how to use our free service and donate your compostable material to Kai Cycle and the workerBe oasis.
